April Kim Tonin

April Kim Tonin

April is an illustrator, educator and native New Yorker. She creates illustrations for private clients, corporate, retail and school events, and fundraisers. She is currently on faculty at the Nightingale-Bamford School as the Director of Visual Education, a museum-based program. April has a B.A. in Fine Arts and French from Mount Holyoke College and a M.A. in Art History from Columbia University. In addition to being a member of CBIG, she is a member of the Academy for Teachers and SCBWI.

Experiences such as raising a child in the city, observing people in the street, at the museum and on the subway, teaching in museums and schools, keeping abreast of politics, and the many years April spent riding horses represent some of the subjects she captures in her illustrations. She can often be found at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with a small sketchbook.
