Although she was never allowed traditional coloring books, from a very young age she was given whatever art supplies she desired, along with an endless supply of blank paper. Those were the perfect conditions under which she could tap into her right brain at will and develop her creative side. It also encouraged the beginning of a slightly compulsive art supply collection that she still maintains and enjoys experimenting with in her studio on Long Island, NY. Deborah is a current member of SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators), LICWI (Long Island Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) and CBIG (Children's Book Illustrators Group). |
