Barbara Mason Rast

Barbara Mason Rast is an artist whose interest in illustration began early, at about the age of six.

The works of Maxfield Parrish, Arthur Szyk, Jessie Wilcox Smith and other Golden Age Illustrators helped spark her desire to create realism with magical elements in her own work.

She is a Published Author/Illustrator, Commercial and Fine Artist, and works primarily in oils in children’s illustration, Portrait painting and still life.

She is a member of CBIG, SCBWI and LICWI groups.

The main objective in her visual art and writing is to convey a sense of beauty and harmony, humor and phantasmagoria, magical and dreamlike worlds.
