Caro Libreros is an illustrator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Design and a Master’s Degree in Fashion Design. For over 15 years she worked as a textile and fashion designer and, after becoming a mom, she discovered her passion for children’s book illustration. Subsequently, she enhanced her education at Parsons The New School for Design, The Cooper Institute and The School of Visual Arts in New York City. In 2018 the Rutgers Council for Children’s Literature selected her as a mentee. Mrs. Libreros enjoys working with watercolors, acrylics, color pencils, and pastels as well as collage with paper. Her visual style is colorful, with an emphasis on patterns, transparencies and overlays of tint.
