Clare Pernice is a children’s picture book writer and illustrator who was born and raised in England where a passion for children’s books took root. Influenced by her favorite local author Roald Dahl and her witty story telling father, she took an avid interest in the world of children’s stories, art and design. A graduate of London’s Central Saint Martin’s School of Art, she has since designed, illustrated and exhibited works in Paris, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Charleston SC, and New York. She has designed children’s books, clothes, toys, murals and has created costumes and props for film and stage.
Clare lives in Weston, Connecticut with her husband, two children and their miniature dachshund, Milo. She is an active member of CBIG and SCBWI. She has authored and illustrated “Circus Girl” (Simply Read Books) and coming soon are “The Real Mother Goose” and “Adventure Boy”, the companion book to “Circus Girl”.
