Li Huan Wu is a Chinese-American author/illustrator of picture books on Chinese medicine and Chinese art. Since acupuncture is gradually becoming more accepted in society, she writes and illustrates books about Qi (life energy), meridians, and herbal medicine. A difference between acupuncture and herbal medicine is that acupuncture uses your own Qi but herbal medicine gives you additional Qi. She has studied acupuncture at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and herbal medicine with Jeffrey Yuen at the Chinatown Wellness Center.
Li Huan also holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and was the recipient of the Final Thesis Award and Alumni Scholarship Award.
After college, she began studying Chinese painting with Master Nam Van Tran and then teaching this timeless art to children and parents. In 2019, she received an emerging illustrator scholarship to the Kweli’s Color of Children’s Literature Conference. Currently, she is a member of SCBWI and the Children’s Book Illustrators Group in NYC.
